Interprojekt d.o.o.

Brief description of organization: Interprojekt (IPM), established in 1999, is an autonomous private micro enterprize (SME), based in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, engaged in design and supervision for structural and civil engineering projects. The work is based on continuous knowledge improvement, CAD techniques, using standard engineering software and modern office equipment. IPM has employes in total five engineers and four cad technitians and has local and international experience.

Brief description of tasks attributed: Seismic behaviour of tower-like masonry structures will be presented through a case study of a stone masonry minaret, either unreinforced or reinforced with CFRP strips. Other reinforcement methods will be considered. Non-linear numerical seismic analysis will be validated through non-destructive ambient vibration tests with other applicable testing and monitoring methods considered. Early warning monitoring system will be discussed. Contribution to guidelines and to dissemination through organization of a meeting with professionals in Bosnia Herzegovina. Main contribution will be thus in WP2; 3; 4; 8; 9 and 10.

Previous experience relevant to tasks attributed: The experience gained through the post-war reconstruction of historical and cultural heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina, points out the need for a more thorough seismic analysis of stone masonry minarets with bearing capacity proven over a period of c.150 to 450 years in a seismic area. IPM Team participated in about thirty projects relevant to the protection of heritage, comprising historical sites, religious buildings, water-mills, public buildings, private premises and masonry bridges. Within nine projects a stone minaret needed to be completely or partly reconstructed and in one case, when bearing capacity of unreinforced masonry found insufficent, vertical CFRP strips were forseen (and later implemented) from inside.
